  • 1 packet (1 oz) Taco seasoning mix Use homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) Cream of mushroom soup Or cream of chicken soup.
  • 1 can (10 oz) Rotel tomatoes with green chilies Adds mild spice; substitute with diced tomatoes if desired.
  • 1 cup Sour cream Adds creaminess; Greek yogurt works too.
  • 0.5 cup Water Thins the mixture slightly.
  • 1 large bag (9.75 oz) Nacho Cheese Doritos Crushed lightly for layering.
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese Freshly grated; Mexican blend or Colby Jack optional.

  • Diced tomatoes Optional topping
  • Green onions Optional topping
  • Jalapeños Optional topping
  • Black olives Optional topping

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Brown ground beef in skillet for 6–8 minutes until no pink remains. Drain grease.
  • Stir in taco seasoning and water; cook 2 minutes. Add soup, Rotel, and sour cream. Mix well.
  • Crush two-thirds of Doritos and spread on the bottom of baking dish.
  • Pour meat mixture evenly over Doritos, then sprinkle 1 cup of cheese.
  • Add remaining Doritos and top with last cup of cheese.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  • Rest 5 minutes before serving to set layers.
