Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 2 ¼ teaspoon active dry yeast One packet
  • 1 ¼ cups warm water Around 110°F
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour For structure

  • 2 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor
  • 1 teaspoon sugar Feeds yeast for proper rise

For the Sauce & Toppings

  • 14 oz crushed tomatoes Sauce base
  • 3 cloves garlic Minced for flavor
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil For sautéing garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning Oregano, basil, thyme blend
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms Sliced (cremini or button)
  • 4 oz pepperoni slices Use quality pepperoni
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese Shredded, low-moisture
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes Optional, adds mild heat
  • salt and black pepper To taste

Instructions

  • Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Let sit until foamy.
  • Combine flour and salt, add yeast mixture, then olive oil. Knead 8 minutes until smooth.
  • Cover and let dough rise 30–40 minutes until doubled.
  • Heat olive oil, sauté garlic 1 min, add crushed tomatoes and seasoning. Simmer 10 mins.
  • Slice mushrooms and prep toppings while sauce cooks.
  • Preheat oven to 450°F, shape dough into 12-inch circle.
  • Spread sauce, add mushrooms, pepperoni, and mozzarella.
  • Bake 12–15 mins until crust golden and cheese bubbly.
  • Cool 2 mins, slice, and serve hot.
