Ingredients

Cupcakes

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour For cupcakes
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar Cupcake batter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter Softened
  • 3 large eggs Room temperature
  • ¾ cup whole milk Room temperature
  • cup pure maple syrup Cupcake batter
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder Leavening
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Flavor
  • ½ teaspoon salt Balances sweetness

Frosting

  • 1 cup unsalted butter Softened, for frosting
  • 4 cups powdered sugar For buttercream
  • cup pure maple syrup For buttercream
  • 2 tablespoon heavy cream For frosting texture
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For buttercream
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances frosting flavor

Candied Bacon

  • 8 strips thick-cut bacon For candied bacon
  • 3 tablespoon brown sugar For candied bacon
  • 2 tablespoon pure maple syrup For candied bacon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F, line sheet with parchment.
  • Mix maple & sugar, brush bacon, bake 12–15 min.
  • Cool bacon, chop small pieces.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F, line muffin tin.
  • Cream butter & sugar, add eggs.
  • Mix in vanilla & maple syrup.
  • Whisk dry ingredients separately.
  • Alternate dry & milk into batter.
  • Fill liners ⅔ full, bake 18–22 min.
  • Cool cupcakes completely.
  • Beat butter for frosting, add sugar gradually.
  • Add maple, cream, vanilla, salt.
  • Beat until smooth & pipeable.
  • Frost cupcakes & top with candied bacon.
