Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Softened to room temperature
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Pure
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract Optional but recommended
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • optional toppings Colored sugar, nuts, or chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven.
  • Line trays with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter and powdered sugar until fluffy.
  • Add egg yolk, vanilla, and almond extract. Mix well.
  • Fold in sifted flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
  • Load dough into cookie press.
  • Press onto prepared trays.
  • Decorate with optional toppings.
  • Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are golden.
  • Cool on wire rack and enjoy.
