Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Ground cinnamon Optional, adds warmth
  • 3 large Ripe bananas Mashed, with brown spots
  • cup Melted butter Unsalted
  • ¾ cup Brown sugar Packed
  • 1 large Egg Beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup Sour cream Secret to moistness
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips Reserve a few for topping
  • ½ cup Chopped walnuts Optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C), grease and line loaf pan.
  • Mash bananas in a bowl until smooth.
  • Stir in melted butter, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, and sour cream.
  • In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gently fold dry ingredients into wet mixture.
  • Add chocolate chips and walnuts, reserving some chips for topping.
  • Pour batter into loaf pan, sprinkle remaining chips.
  • Bake 55–65 min, toothpick should come out with moist crumbs.
  • Cool 10 min in pan, then transfer to wire rack.
