  • 8 beef hot dogs or franks
  • 8 hot dog buns toasted
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 blend preferred
  • 15 oz tomato sauce canned
  • 6 oz tomato paste canned
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese fresh grated

Flavor Enhancers

  • 1 yellow onion finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, to taste
  • salt & pepper to taste

Optional Toppings

  • diced jalapeños
  • chopped green onions
  • sour cream
  • extra shredded cheese

Instructions

  • Brown beef and cook onions and garlic.
  • Add spices, tomato paste, and sauce.
  • Simmer chili for 10 minutes.
  • Score and grill hot dogs.
  • Toast buns.
  • Assemble hot dogs, top with chili and cheese.
  • Let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
