Ingredients

Chicken Patties

  • 1 lb ground chicken 85/15 lean-to-fat ratio for juiciness
  • 4 oz feta cheese crumbled
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 small red onion finely diced
  • 2 tablespoon fresh oregano or 1 tablespoon dried
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest from one lemon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil for cooking

For Serving

  • 4 burger buns or pita bread
  • lettuce leaves
  • tomato slices
  • red onion slices
  • tzatziki sauce or creamy yogurt sauce
  • avocado slices optional

Instructions

  • Mix all the patty ingredients in a bowl.
  • Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
  • Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  • Cook the patties on a skillet or grill for about 5 minutes per side, or until fully cooked (internal temp of 165°F).
  • Assemble the burgers with buns or pita, toppings, and sauces.
  • Serve and enjoy!
