  • 1 Large heavy-bottomed skillet or wok For cooking beef and vegetables

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20) Best flavor and moisture
  • 2 cups Cooked jasmine rice Day-old rice preferred
  • 2 tablespoon Soy sauce Low sodium preferred
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil Adds authentic flavor
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh ginger Grated
  • 1 medium Onion Thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Broccoli florets Fresh or frozen
  • 2 stalks Green onions Chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds Toasted if possible
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil For cooking
  • 2 tablespoon Brown sugar Balances saltiness
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar For sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch Thickening
  • ¼ cup Beef broth For sauce

Instructions

  • Heat vegetable oil in skillet, prepare rice & ingredients.
  • Cook onions for 2 minutes, add beef and cook 4–5 mins.
  • Stir in garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  • Whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, cornstarch.
  • Pour sauce over beef, add broccoli, cook 2–3 mins.
  • Drizzle sesame oil, stir, serve over rice.
  • Garnish with green onions & sesame seeds.
